This tour is a real pleasure for the senses. It offers everything you might need for a nice walk at the weekend with friends, family, kids and dogs. So collect the gang, make sure you charged your devices for some amazing photo...und los! Let's go!
First and foremost start off early. The parking spaces in the immediate vicinity are scarce. Your best options are "Wanderparkplatz Vor Burgbach" or at "Kurhaus Bad Rippoldsau". The good news is that there is enough place for street parking, but be careful when walking along the street to the beginning of the path or when crossing, because it is a busy state road.

Burgbachwasserfall
Once at the start of the hike you have two options. You could either go directly to the waterfall Burgbach (Burgbachwasserfall), which is less than a kilometer away or you could walk it backwards, starting at the Restorant "Zum letzten G-stehr" and leave the waterfall for a dessert. I have to admit, we are not the most patient people, so we went straight for the water. And we were stunned! We literally didn't move for a few seconds, looking at the amazing view, trying to rationalize what was before our eyes. And being completely honest, we have never seen such a place and natural architecture in Schwarzwald. How the water was falling from the edge of the cliff and the trees were looking down on us, as some mighty creatures, being there long before us and probably keep staying proudly long after we are gone, made us think about how small we actually are and how short our time is to explore everything.

The trees, hanging from the cliff
And the Klösterle-Schleife pavilion
Leaving aside the philosophical world, now let's go on to the stones, clothed in beautiful green dresses of moss. Such "fashion" we saw during our weekend trip to Müllerthal in Luxembourg and at some spots along the way at the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Route in Japan. We never expected to find something similar in our backyard. Those natural constructions stretch all the way up to the Rocks of Burgbach (die Burgbachfelsen). On top of them is a small pavilion (the Klösterle-Schleife Pavilion), that opens out a perfect view to the forest. It is also great place for a break. Going back down the stairs from the pavilion, look to your left and follow the signs for "Klösterle-Schleife". At the 5. km, you'll need to cross the state road again, ascend to the Schießhüttele pavilion, with a beautiful view to the river Wolftal and the town of Bad Rippoldsau-Schapbach. From there, the last 2km will take you through some cozy forests and green meadows. If you live in the region or if you are just visiting, make sure to do this 8km-hike. It's really easy, short and suitable for everyone. And once again, as the Germans say "Los und viel Spaß!".
